Hitch Lamp Protector - (Wired)
The HLP (Hitch Lamp Protector) is a lamp and body protector combined with the famous heavy duty Hitch Receiver Towbar. It is designed to provide rear body and lamp protection for those commercial vehicles that need to towheavy trailers. The TBM can be removed when not in use.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1.
On the LH side of the impact beam (as mounted on vehicle), cut away a
clearance section of 15mm outwards of the existing towbar side arm. This
will provide clearance for the LHS HLP BRACKET.
Ensure that you do not cut through the top skin of the impact beam or damage the bumper. Cut off the reinforcing gusset.
NOTE: The gusset may have been removed during the towbar fitment.
2.On the LH side of the towbar, remove and discard the existing 3 x M12 x 1.25P G10.9 bolts along with the
flat washers and nuts securing the towbar side arms to the crosstube.
3.Fit the LHS HLP Bracket Assembly to the towbar side arm and the crosstube and secure using the
supplied 3 x M12 x 1.25P x 45 G10.9 bolts along with Flat Washers and Nuts.
NOTE: If the HLP is being fitted in conjunction with the Step Assembly (P/No. 08365), use the longer M12 x 1.25P x 60 GR10.9 bolts provided.
Torque all fasteners to specifications listed below:
M12 x 1.25P x G10.9 : 125Nm
4.Repeat the steps 1 to 3 for the fitment of the RHS HLP Assembly.
5. Insert caps into ends of Hitch protector assemblies.
